What perhaps sound like a scream of Tarzan in the jungle, is actually the name of a new console.
A console for the TV. Or better an open system that can open up for indie game developers for the console market. This new console box, scheduled to be released around March 2013, is running on Android and it will be able for hackers, developers and users to customize to own liking. Boxer8, the company behind this new creation, will also create an own app store. The games will all be available to play for free (on trial). They have already a prototype ready, most likely for themselves and perhaps some indie developers who want to start building games. The retail price will be about 99 USD, what the price will be in the rest of the world, isn’t known yet as we shouldn’t forget about import rates.
The following specs are taken from Wikipedia and are most likely not definitive yet:
Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core ARM processor
1 GB RAM
8 GB of internal flash storage
HDMI connection to the TV, with support for up to 1080p HD
WIFI 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth LE 4.0
One USB 2.0
Wireless controller sporting two analog sticks, d-pad, eight action buttons, a system button, and 3″ touchpad
Android 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich”
