Recently Far cry 3 came out for Windows, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. This third game in the Farcry series you start out on a tropical island in the Pacific where you, Jason Brody, are on holiday with a group of friends and their girlfriends.
While drinking in a pub, you and your friends get caught in a fight between warlords and aboriginal freedom fighters. But you, Jason, breaks out of captivity. Now it’s your task to save your friends from the grips of Vaas and get off the island savely.
Far Cry 3 is, like its predecessors, an open world first-person shooter with roleplaying elements in it. The roleplaying elements include experience points, skill trees and a crafting system. Plants found around the island can be used in creating medicine to heal you in battle.
Jason can hide behind objects and use them to peek around on the enemy. Jason can also do so called silent takedowns by doing melee attacks from above, below or behind an enemy.
Far Cry 3 has a ten times bigger story mode map than Farcry 2 which gives the gameplay a sandbox feeling.
So the player can choose what to do next and where to go on the island and has a story to back it all with.
The graphics in Far Cry 3 are simply amazing, with animations to help in the effect of the killing. It’s looking like you are playing in a film with all the freedom of the world. But this is simply looking better and feeling better than a movie as the player has full control over the story and situations. Next to the main story there are many side stories and missions.
The game has been receiving much praise for it’s open world game design, character builds and the long and satisfying campaign missions with lots of things to do and has been rated highly by the most popular media.
Far Cry 3 came out on the 30th of November in Europe.
