My New Gaming Rig 2017

Game Mistress

For several different reasons, it was finally time again for a new gaming rig.

Not that my current rig wasn’t any good any longer, but it started to under perform on newer games. Also, my husband couldn’t stop nagging me that he wanted to buy me a new one, so that he could take over my old one.

So I looked at new rigs for the past few months, with newer technology and more power.
I must say that the power of PC’s do not explosively improve anymore like they used to do some years back. But there is still a difference between a rig from 5 years ago and a rig bought now.

With the future in mind

I was looking for something that is fast in response time, faster in running games and startup and something that would give me some room to expand and run stuff for the years to come.

For example, in the future I’d like to do VR gaming. Right now that type of equipment is pretty pricey, but in the future when prices fall a bit, it might be affordable to buy that. So the graphics card and all the other essential components are VR ready or VR optimized. Right now I still have an old Samsung monitor, but in the future I might buy a screen with a better response time.

Also I did look for something of a nice design. Got to be proud of my rig and hence I have to be able to show it off to the world. So I went with an Nvidia rig in the green colours of Nvidia.

Without further ado, here are my specs:

The worst thing of my new rig is just one thing: Windows 10.
Of course I could go back to my Windows 7 license, but soon that Operating System will be non supported, so I guess I will have to get used to Windows 10 and its weird behavior with games and apps.

What do you guys think of my new rig? Please leave your comment below!

Game on!
