Today we tell you about our games backlog, the type of list you get as a gamer with all the games you haven’t completed or started on yet.

We both are still playing Guild Wars 2 ofcourse, which we will continue to do. Next to that you will see us hopefully soon return to MineCraft with some new adventures.

We also both play Animal Crossing on the 3DS, although that’s mainly The Game Mistress here, as she is owning the game and is therefore the mayor of her town, while Steven is there just a citizen.

Today I (The Game Mistress) have played out the storymode of Pikmin 3 (WiiU), but that doesn’t mean this game is over and out yet, as it unlocked challenges mode. So I will be playing that for the coming time. Also I think I will publish a video soon with some Pikmin 3 challenge mode content.

Torchlight 2 is still on my backlog, playing that currently solo but perhaps we will try to do also an episode of that together with Steven again sometime soon.

I’m also going to play Luigi’s Mansion 2 on 3DS soon again, it has been laying around for a while during the summer holidays and it was shortly moved aside because of Animal Crossing.

Steven says he will find and play some sort of indie title. That promises ofcourse a new preview or review about it.
Steven also hopes to play Asherons Call 2 (with or without me), I will have to see if there’s time left for that.

Who knows what else will come up with the upcoming games in August (tomorrow’s article) such as Rayman Legends.

So, how is your games backlog looking like?

An artistic adventure game that makes heavily use of your imagination with an interesting storyline.

That’s how I would like to describe this game that is out now for PS3.
The Unfinished Swan, developed by Giant Sparrow, is an adventure game set in a world of paint. It’s called Unfinished Swan as actually the whole world and story isn’t quite completed. While you want to walk around in this game (using the Playstation Move) you cannot always see where to go next. So before you can move on you will have to use the paint tool. While you splatter ink on the canvas, more objects will reveal along your path and you will be able to find your next direction to take.

But even though you get to reveal these objects, they are still looking rather unfinished. Only by imagining what is there, you can figure out where to move. Along is a beautiful story about someone that is responsible for this unfinished business. Why is everything unfinished? Why did this person lose interest?

Your journey will be led by a runaway swan who guides you through strange levels filled with bizarre creatures.
Each level will bring new twists, challenges, and puzzles until you eventually come face-to-face with the eccentric King that built this realm.

Guild Wars 2 Jumping Puzzle Walkthrough in Metrica Province

A couple of weeks ago I did a walkthrough of a jumping puzzle I found in Metrica Province in Guild Wars 2.

[/intro]

This rather challenging puzzle is hidden away between rocks and bushes but goes actually over the map in the great heights. It makes use of a portal system with attunement devices. If you don’t attune to them or visit them in the wrong order, you get portalled back to where you came from. Frustrating at first, until you figure this out.

Falling of the platforms isn’t a good idea either as you get portalled back to start. Luckily, you have the option to use a transporter goblin to transport you to the start of the last level you just entered, as soon as you have attuned for these other portals.

As you will see in the beginning of the video, it takes time to figure out which way to go first and what portals are the right ones (as well as how difficult it can be to time events and jumping the small platforms). Also sometimes you need to take a different road just to activate something to go back the other way again for the next level.Unfortunately the camera does also still bug in Guild Wars 2 which can make doing jumping puzzles an annoyance.

To make it even more difficult, as if jumping wasn’t difficult enough at great heights with Acrophobia and Vertigo, is it windy, cold and electrifying up there. Also several monsters will try to knock you off your socks – and of the platform if possible.

The result is an exciting 13-minute walkthrough video of this puzzle.

Have fun!

In this recent patch the live story continues. Cutthroat Politics is about the voting candidate process that we all know of any countries’ political voting system. There are two candidates making sure we pay attention to them and will vote for them.

[/intro]

Ellen Kiel and Evon Gnashblade are battling for a position that came available by the previous live story where one member of the Zephyr Counsel got assasinated.

To be able to support either Ellen Kiel or Evon Gnashblade, you need to play their games, events and dungeons in order to receive voting badges which you can then drop into the candidates’ voting dropboxes.

For each support token you deliver, you will receive one support button which gives you by usage a special buff upto an hour with which special achievements can be unlocked.

Many minigames, mini dungeons and PvP dungeons have been added in which support tokens can be earned.

If you didn’t complete the Bazaar of the Four Winds achievements yet, you can still do so until the 6th of August.
Do note though that the Cutthroat Politics support token story doesn’t last long at all. It will stop accepting support tokens on the 5th of August at 11am PST (2pm GMT+2).

New achievements have been added to the Living World, Support Ellen Kiel, and Support Evon Gnashblade categories that involve participating in Candidate Trials, Aspect Arena, Southsun Survival and showing support while participating in other content.

Completing the Gnashblade Supporter meta-achievement awards the player a Mini Evon Gnashblade. Completion of this meta-achievement requires players to complete 6 of the Support Evon Gnashblade achievements.

Completing the Kiel Supporter meta-achievement awards the player a Mini Ellen Kiel. Completion of this meta-achievement requires players to complete 6 of the Support Ellen Kiel achievements.

Otherwise the game also gets bugfixes, new features and class changes in each patch.

Cutthroat Politics came out on last Tuesday evening.
